Pastor Andrew Mukinisha and his wife, Prisca Ayinkamiye, are both Rwandese nationals who grew up in exile in Uganda. Their families fled Rwanda as a result of the Rwandan civil unrest of the early 60’s, and had since been resettled in Western Uganda.
They both became born-again Christians as single young people and entered full-time Christian ministry in the early 1980s. They served in their local churches as pastor and evangelist respectively. They got married in May 1988 and, shortly after that, they joined Youth With A Mission (YWAM), an International, Inter-denominational Missions Organization, and served at the YWAM base in Jinja, Uganda.
Between 1994 and 1996, Andrew & Prisca underwent training at the YWAM- Muizeberg base in Cape Town, South Africa in preparation for missions work in Rwanda. In May of 1996 they joined the pioneering team for YWAM-Rwanda, where they served in various capacities until they felt called to full-time pastoral ministry with Christian Life Assembly (CLA-Rwanda) in June 2004. They had served with YWAM for 16 years when they transitioned into full-time pastoral ministry.
Andrew and Prisca are currently the Senior Pastors for Christian Life, having taken over from Rev. Elmer & Sherry Komant, the PAOC missionary couple who helped plant CLA- Rwanda. Andrew & Prisca are passionate about the transformational power of the Gospel and have been instrumental in the founding of the Mercy Ministry, CLA’s work among the disadvantaged in society, most especially people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Andrew and Prisca live in Kigali, Rwanda, and they have five children: Jonathan, Jaclyn, Joanne, Jessica and Joshua.
